XT/EN Flea Market Finds - Extended Enrollment
(Flea Market Finds - Extended Enrollment)
“Flea Markets Finds” features the best ideas and techniques from the Thrifty Thursdays feature I run on my blog – these projects are now secret and can only be seen here at MCC! Each week we’ll create home décor and other projects using found objects from garage sales, thrift stores, 99 cent stores, and more! This class is all about repurposing and creating something beautiful.
Lesson One: Sourcing & Altered Globe
This week we will create an altered globe using scrapbooking supplies and a globe found on clearance. We will create handmade flowers from the phone book and print embellishments from vintage clip art found online. Total cost: Under $30. We’ll also discuss sourcing items to alter.
Lesson Two: Spray Paint
We’ll create a starburst style mirror and bird feeder pair using dollar store and thrift store items and spray paint. There are lots of paints on the market that can achieve the look of metal!
Lesson Three: Frames & Wall Decor
We’ll use decoupage to create altered canvases using ephemera from a flea market. We’ll also altered frames with Duck Tape, spray paint, and paper to create focal art for the wall. We’ll also talk about painting a frame with acrylic paint to make it match your décor.
Lesson Four: Altering furniture
We’ll discuss ways to alter furniture and alter a shelf with decoupage and paint.
Extended Enrollment classrooms include all course materials and are available only after enrollment in instructor-led classes. This classroom contains no message boards, student gallery or teacher communication.
