Welcome to My Creative Classroom!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say welcome to My Creative Classroom and I hope you take a few minutes to look around, subscribe to our newsletter and take a few courses. We want this to be an enjoyable experience for our students so here are a few tips to help you navigate our website.

We have recently make changes to our website. Scroll down for a detail description of those changes.
To enroll in a course you must be a registered user. Beyond enrolling for a course, becoming a registered user also makes it easier for you to view course information and stay up-to-date with upcoming courses.
Be sure to sign-up for our FREE class: Everyday Moodlings. Inside this classroom you find free projects and get to know the MCC faculty better.

Summer 2010 Changes

MCC Students,

As you can tell we have made some changes to our site.

I believe the changes will enhance your overall experience. For our students you will notice a very important change once you log on. You will no longer be re-directed to your Overview of Courses page. Don't worry that page is still available to you. Simply click on the 'My Courses' option from the menu bar (see picture below) and it will take you to your Overview of Courses page.

If you are currently enrolled in classes you will notice from the 'My Classes' drop down menu you can easily access each of the courses you are enrolled in.

I also wanted to let you know that even though our 'look' has changed the classes still function as they always have. You will still find all the things you expect to find inside our classrooms.

Student Gallery: This spring we updated our student gallery. Based on the feedback we received we will be making additional updates this fall.

Feedback Surveys: I had a chance over the summer to review the feedback surveys. I want to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey, your comments are invaluable to us. One area of concern that we are addressing is course descriptions and supply lists. It has always been our goal to give you a much information about a class as we can before you choose to enroll. We want you to know exactly what you will be receiving inside the classroom. As we grew we unfortunately got a bit lax in this area. While the vast majority of you said our course descriptions accurately described our courses we felt we could make improvements.

This fall we will be revamping our course descriptions and many of our new classes already have the updates. When you look at the course description you will still see a short, basic description. That will not change. What WILL change is that we will include a course outline with the supply list. So when you click on the supply list link the document you will see will contain both the supply list and the course outline. With over 100 courses offered it will take time to update each supply list/course outline. Our goal is to have all of them updated before the spring semester begins. Until then, if you have questions regarding a class be sure to email us at support.mcc@gmail.com or email the instructor directly.

Emails, Emails, Emails: If you enroll in a class at MCC you will receive weekly emails from the instructor. We try very hard to limit the amount of emails going out and we offer support to our students who wish to reduce the amount of emails they receive. We know some of you would prefer not to receive any emails, but a weekly email is part of our course content. We know others of you do not always receive the weekly email. This fall we will be working to make sure that every student receives the weekly teacher email.

Winter Semester: We have had numerous requests to offer classes over the winter holidays. Starting this year we will shorten our fall and spring semester to bring you a four week winter semester. We are very excited about the classes we are working on for this semester. We will reveal those classes in November.
